ABSTRACT:
With the current limitations of the current agricultural system, the rise of global climate change, increasing demand for global food production, and the emergence of new and vital technologies, it is obvious that the use of smart agriculture technologies are going to be needed to feed the global population without further destruction of the environment. According to the OECD (2012), GHG caused by global land use, typically deforestation for agricultural use, will continue to rise until 2030. After which point, it may decrease due to agricultural method efficiencies, decreases in population, and reforestation. However, there are a lot of factors and if agricultural yield improvements do not happen, agricultural land use may only stabilize or continue to grow.
